"Miss Earth is a pageant about beauty. Period. The beauty of young women coming together for a noble cause. The beauty of smart women actively working in and for their communities. The beauty of today's youth appreciating and taking care of our planet. The beauty of those who are brave of heart and take challenges as opportunities. The beauty of young women blossoming into world ambassadors and confident adults. This fact was very obvious during the celebration of our latest Miss Earth United States pageant. Fifty-eight delegates from all regions in the United States met for 4 days to celebrate the beauty of the Earth... the planet and the beauty system. The new Miss Earth United States, crowned on July 22, 2009 in Vegas, Nevada, is Amy Diaz. We congratulate her and wish her much success in her quest to represent the United States at the Miss Earth pageant in Asia. For more information about our national Earth queen, please visit www.EarthPageantProductions.com and www.USEarthPageants.com. Michelle Piwko, the reigning Miss Earth Florida, earned a high placement in the top 10. She represented Florida proudly and exquisitely. Michelle is one of the most special ladies I have met. An attorney by the age of 23, and now age 26, she dedicates her life to defending neglected and abused children in Miami. She's also passionate about field environmental education and the protection of endangered species. Her sweet demeanor and quick mind make her a stand out wherever she goes and I am happy to say our Florida queen is honest, dedicated and disciplined and that shows in everything she does. I am excited to continue working with her in developing all her environmental projects and supporting her in all her goals as Miss Earth Florida. She sets a standard that will be hard to follow. Get to know her better by clicking on "Meet Michelle" on the navigation bar at the top of this page. Aubrey Carr, Miss Teen Earth SW Florida is another jewel. She made the top 4 in the Miss Teen Earth United States pageant and was crowned as the new Miss Teen Water United States. Aubrey is also a unique young lady. She just turned 17 and she has already been an Olympic level gymnast, professional dancer, dance instructor and honor student. She just got accepted at FGCU and will be able to do her High School senior year and first year of college at the same time. Aubrey is an incredible beauty and a noble heart. She's 100% dedicated, kind, smart and funny. On her own, she has developed 5 different environmental projects from beach clean-ups to cartridge ink disposal to installing rainwater catches in her school to power electricity for the football fields. She an active fan of recycling and in fact, has visited her hometown's recycling centers for a closer look at the process. She also speaks to children ages 8 to 16 about every day life tips to protect the environment. Get to know her better by clicking on "Meet Aubrey" on the navigation bar at the top of this page.
