About Pageant Director and IBP LLC
I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.

Sandra Silva graduated from Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia with a degree in Psychology and short after began work with underprivileged children and teenagers in the Sports Psychology field.

After a couple of years, she was hired by one of Colombia's biggest financial institutions, FES, to work in Proyecto Camaleon, a program targeting teenagers from 23 cities of Colombia. The program aimed to provide a participation space for adolescents where they could express themselves freely, exchange experiences and develop life and personal skills by implementing social projects in their own communities. All this while producing a national magazine to express their views and touch controversial topics affecting youth.

In 1997, Silva became the national coordinator for the program, although not for long. After winning the Semilleros del Caguan award for her work in Camaleon, Silva also received a technical cooperation award from the British Council to travel to the United Kingdom and complete a Masters degree. Silva eaned her Masters of Science in Group Processes and Intergroup Relations in 2001 from University of Kent, after which she travelled to the United States.

In the last 9 years, Silva co-founded Eyes Wide Open, a wellness and awareness promotion company that provides community members with innovative tools for a mindful living. The company has a publishing division, an education division and a wellness center in Florida.

Silva has also worked as a writer, copy editor, online editor and associate editor for different publications in Florida. Her main interest is to write about community service, charitable work and active heroes in the community.

Her latest enterprise is Integral Beauty Productions LLC, a company that plans and coordinates events that empower women in their communities and provides tools so they can pursue their dreams. "Integral Beauty" alluding to the multidimensional perspective Silva has of true beauty. One that involves healthy options, commitment to grow, learn and serve, and the ability to develop skills for life.

Silva's passion for pageants began early in life. Although she participated in a few of them during her teen years and for years she studied acting,  modeling, photography, public speaking techniques, make up and runway, Silva prefers to be "behind-cameras". Her true passion is to coach and guide the young women in these pageants and help them discover their inner strengths and set the steps to conquer their goals in life. She has coached contestants for local, state and national competitions in different international systems including Miss USA/Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth.

Silva sees pageants as an opportunity for young women to develop and discover their life interests and to acquire confidence and determination to make their personal dreams come true -whatever they may be - while offering a service to their community.

"Pageants are stepping stones to brilliant and successful careers but most importantly to personal growth. These women are not afraid of taking advantage of this opportunity,” Silva says. "The concept of a well-rounded, wholesome, woman seems to escape pageant girls. Most people assume that if a woman wants to be in a beauty pageant, there is only that side to her, but nowadays young ladies are multidimensional. Women have been limited by society for centuries, to do what is expected from them. Everyone says this has changed and we are free to make our own choices. Let’s recognize then these women for being brave enough to face the stereotypes, break them and go after what they want.”

With new times, come new challenges and Silva is now additionally committed to the preservation of the environment and the importance of younger members of the community learning about global issues and solutions as well as hands-on outlets to make a change. She started directing the Florida Earth Pageants in 2009.
